How often have you read something in the newspapers that turns your stomach - perhaps an article, or a reader's letter - and thought "What a lot of tosh" (or words to that effect!), or "how spot-on!"?
On the next page (click the sub-menu "Right to Reply" or simply click on the link button, below ) you can leave your response to a letter in the knowledge that it WON'T be chopped in half by the Editor, and the venom/effusion of your letter neutralised (isn't it always frustrating!).

The leader of the Scottish Government has applauded the promotion of a 'wind farm' in South Lanarkshire.
Does he REALLY wish the landscape looked like THIS?
Dear LWG Group :
Reading recent correspondence about the standards of contemporary education, I am amazed how simple it is to enter University today.
To enter University in 1958, I needed three Scottish Certificate of Education “Highers” and two “Lowers”
Highers and Lowers in the Scottish system, were way beyond English “A” and “O” Levels.
A Scottish “Lower” was beyond an English “A” Level.
Then the description of the Subjects.
Higher Science consisted of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Three subjects.
Higher Mathematics consisted of Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, Logarithms, and Arithmetic. Five subjects.
Higher English consisted of English Language and English Literature. Two subjects.
Lower Geography consisted of Physical Geography and Political Geography. Two subjects
History was just History as I recall.
French was just French. What else could French possibly be.
So I had ten “A” Levels and four “O” levels in today’s parlance. Plus I passed Technical Drawing and Art on the side.
Then I was a Flight Sergeant in the CCF.
And I was turned down for Edinburgh University. Not good enough for the intake of 1960.
In later life I became a Graduate of the College of the Institute of Marketing, and got as far as Stage Three for a Certificate in Certified and Corporate Accountancy.
In 2004 I gained a degree as Master of Business Administration (MBA)
And all of the above at my own or my parent’s expense. Not one penny from the State.
Now, under Mr Cameron’s new world order, any immigrant with half an “O” Level in cookery, can go to Oxford or Cambridge free of charge, under anti-discrimination legislation, to make up the “proper” balance of the numbers.
And Cameron thinks that people like me will buckle down and accommodate this lunacy for the sake of the Utopian Socialism now known as Conservatism.
He has another think coming. Not just from me, but from many others just like me.

Mal-content ! (another from Malcolm!)
(16/08/2011 )
These people had billions of pounds of benefits lavished on them during the tenure of the previous socialist government. They are not deprived. Their problem - if they ever really had one - is that they never had to fit into society or contribute to it in any way, particularly the three million who the socialists encouraged to come here from abroad to build their dependency voter client base.
Then the family unit was deliberately broken down in order to further encourage dependency.
Single motherhood was made a business under Labour and the benefit system, and the children of those single mothers are meant to perpetuate that business of destroying the family unit.
Cultural Marxism, which is Labours other name, has broken society in preparation for the post democratic new world order now being peddled by the EU project and the sinister Common Purpose. The present LibCon shambles is a willing conspirator. All they have done so far is lecture the indigenous British poor on the virtues of frugality while spending money on foreign aid.
In short, things are going to plan. Look deeper and think harder.
So please keep calm and carry on.
Malcolm Parkin
Scotland will lose 7 MPs in proposals to reduce the number of MPs in the UK to 600. (Scotsman 13 October). But is this enough??
The EU has 737 MEPs controlling our laws and almost every aspect of our lives. The EU imposes over 85 per cent of their laws on us so, unless we leave the EU, we do not need so many UK politicians and their staffing levels and escalating expenses. (wives, relations and duck houses).
We have 750 in the House of Lords, 658 MPs, 129 MSPs, 60 Welsh Assembly members and 30 in the Northern Ireland Assembly.
An unsustainable 1627.
In addition there are over 22,000 councillors at local authority level who are generously paid.
We need to make significant cuts.
Remember politicians saying, "We are all in this together"??
There needs to be a meaningful cull of politicians, councillors and hangers on.
Where is the political party with the guts to propose significant savings??
At least I can dream whilst the "gravy train" rolls relentlessly on at our expense.
