This is a topic that 81 per cent of people want aired since they are demanding that the Government must substantially reduce immigration levels to Britain.
 
A cross-party group of MPs and Peers led by former Minister Frank Field, and including former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey produced a report called "Balanced Migration".
It explodes the myths of the liberal left who said we needed mass immigration and anyone who disagreed was "racist". What is racist about balancing Britain's economic needs against the space available on our already crowded island?? A prediction of a population of 78.6 million by 2050 is too horrendous to contemplate. Our welfare system, the NHS, the police and social housing are being overwhelmed by an ever growing population.
The myth that immigrants contribute to the economy has been exploded since they only contribute 0.62p per head per week. This only pays for a tiny fraction of the services they use.
The myth that immigration was an answer to the "pensions timebomb" did not stand up to the scrutiny of the House of Lords Select Committee and the Turner Committee on Pensions.
The largest single factor in the need for more housing is immigration.

The green lobby keeps going on about the environment but more people means more housing and more cars and more roads but fewer green belts. Why the deafening silence??

The "Balanced Migration" report confirms that it is not racist to apply limits to only non-EU citizens.
Sixty per cent of Asians believe that there are too many immigrants being allowed into Britain.
With 1.6 million unemployed and 2.6 million on incapacity benefit we need to help many back to work to boost the economy not the false promises about immigration.
