BANK INTEGRITY?
Guys, Not content with carrying on with their bonus schemes the Banks are now into macho cost cutting. Barclays and Lloyds (within a week of eachother) have told any contracting staff that they must take a 10% pay cut or have their contracts terminated. This is despicable as they know that that the contractors have to accept as there is little work out there. It would appear due to the timing that the Banks are almost working like a cartel to manage the marketplace. At a time when prices are going through the roof asking someone to take a 10% pay cut is pretty despicable. That is the Britain we live in today.

History repeats itself as it always does.
I see that Pravda in its revamped 21st century form has announced, " Twenty years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall the EU is now the reincarnation of the Soviet Union". Who should know better than they the deadly truth of that statement?
The Lisbon Treaty came into force on 1st. December and in the face of this grim certainty David Cameron pipes up his puny "promise" to "repatriate powers" from the EU and its unelected political caucus. What a hope!
Even the Foreign Office, whose sometime patriotic ranks spoke out for all things British is reported as regretting the silting away of its erstwhile power-base in face of the rising tide of Eurocracy.
Our British flag will shortly be companioned with the EU banner in all locations. How long before President Barroso and his neo-Leninist Cabinet will have infilled the twelve stars with the hammer and sickle?

DEBT BURDEN

We are promised that Political parties are going to cut our Budget Deficit over the next 4 years.

As they are unwilling, again for political reasons, to specify draconian cuts in public spending, this circle cannot be squared. Why?

The amount that comes in yearly from taxation alone is never enough to fulfil all that needs doing. That is why every year the Government goes to the financial markets to borrow even more debt for what is called the 'Public Sector Borrowing Requirement'.

However, not to worry, all the excess debt is eventually added to UK National Debt, which is too high even to contemplate – especially by those who are purposely confused by hearing about some 'deficit' or other.

Most of us go cross-eyed at figures such as £50 billion, but that is roughly what has to be paid in interest each year to the financiers who hold the 'chits' on our National Debt. This has to be paid BEFORE any useful asset such as a school, a hospital, or a road, can be built.

Can I be the only one deeply disturbed by the millions of pounds flowing out of this country under the banner of "International Aid"? The UK government has recently announced a £26 million aid package to Cape Verde to enable them to build a 40 turbine windfarm - this when the UK electricity supply situation is fast becoming critical and our economy is in tatters!

What possible benefit can this be to the UK when undoubtedly the turbines will be manufactured in Denmark, Germany or the USA and the steel for the towers will be made in India or China!

...And they wonder if the education system in the UK is as good as it once was!

One in 10 school children think the Queen invented the telephone and that the first man on the moon was Buzz Lightyear, the plastic space ranger from Toy Story; in addition almost one third believe Sir Isaac Newton discovered fire. (Sky News)

Two letters in the "Scotsman" by Michael Crosby and Alastair Harper touched a chord and accord with me, on the defence of our realm.
I had just read a statement by General Sir David Richards, Head of British Armed Forces where he was quoted as saying: “The biggest strategic risk for the UK is economic not military. The main effort must be the economy as no economy can defend itself if bankrupt.” This is straight from the political manual where you have no business to be, General. People throughout history have always fought to defend themselves and country without first asking can we afford it. Adam Smith, in his ‘Wealth of Nations’, even said “defence is of more importance than opulence”.
Richards goes on to say: “Despite defence cuts, Britain will remain powerful relative to our allies”. No, General, it is generally the enemies you should be thinking about!

While unemployment has now reached its' highest level for almost two decades,
Increase in energy bills creating fuel poverty, higher road tax and insurance making life
difficult for those on low or fixed incomes, substantial increases in food prices etc.etc. All this while the moguls in the EU are demanding more taxes from us to continue their extravagant life style. This situation will never change as long as we are members of this corrupt Union.

Whatever your political views, things will never change as long as we keep voting for the same old parties. If you are concerned, I would urge you to log on to the above website and find out the cost of enabling these parasites and their families to indulge themselves in a lifestyle most
of us can only dream about.

It is heartening to read that as India continues to make the economic and technical progress which will eventually propel it to the leadership of the free world, it still has men such as Pawan Kumar, willing to keep alive traditional skills. No doubt in due course Ajmal Kusab – the sole surviving terrorist from the 2008 Mumbai massacres – will briefly meet Mr Kumar or one of his colleagues, on the  gallows!

PS The traditional skill in question is one that many of us would like to see practiced in Britain once again!
